What products do we create out of bamboo leaves?

Our products include: Bamboo Leaf Extract ( BLE), hydrosols, hand sanitizers, loose leaf tea and lozenges. We conducted laboratory analysis of our products and here are our findings:

 

1. GC/ MS of a sample of bamboo (Schizostachyum lumampao) hydrosols

A Gas Chromatography tandem Mass Spectomtery (GC/MS) analysis conducted on Shizostachyum lumamapao species showed that 3-HEXEN-1-OL (45.58%), also known as (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol and leaf alcohol, a colorless oily liquid with an intense grassy-green odor of freshly cut green grass and leaves) and 1-OCTEN-3-OL (12.49%) comprised the majority compounds of S. lumampao.
These compounds are green leaf volatiles (GLVs) which are commonly alcohols, aldehydes and esters of fatty acid.
Because of its unique “green” odor, it is a very important aroma compound used in food flavors, beverages and in perfumes
